Take control of your child’s online browsing with Google Family Link’s content restrictions feature! Here’s how to easily manage the websites they can access on Chrome:

  1. Open the Family Link App: Start by launching the Family Link app on your device—your command center for online safety.

  2. Select Your Child: Tap on your child’s name to access their unique settings.

  3. Tap Controls: Head to “Controls,” then select “Content restrictions,” and finally choose “Google Chrome.”

  4. Choose a Setting:

    • Allow All Sites: Give your child the freedom to explore all sites, except those you specifically block.

    • Try to Block Explicit Sites: Opt for this setting to help shield your child from sexually explicit content.

    • Only Allow Approved Sites: Take the strict route by permitting access only to the sites you personally approve.

  5. Manage Sites: Want to customize further? Tap “Approved” or “Blocked” under “Manage sites” to manually allow or block specific websites.

But that’s not all! Google Family Link also empowers you to manage your child’s app permissions and account settings:

  • Set Age Levels: Control access to apps, games, movies, and books based on age-appropriate levels.

  • Permission Control: Decide who gets to approve new or current apps for your child.

  • Schedule Downtime: Lock your child’s device during designated downtime hours to promote balance.

  • Location Alerts: Get notifications whenever your child arrives or leaves a specific location

  • Device Management: Easily ring your child’s device or check its battery life.

With Google Family Link, you’re not just monitoring—you’re actively shaping a safer, healthier online environment for your child!
