What You'll See on Your Dashboard
The App Usage screen keeps things simple. At the top, you'll find your child's Screen Time for the selected day, showing exactly which apps were used and for how long. Below that, the App Library gives you a full inventory of every app on your child's device, split into two easy tabs:
Installed — every app currently on the device, with the date it was added
Uninstalled — apps that have since been removed
You can tap any date at the top of the screen to look back at previous days, making it simple to spot patterns over time.
What's New: Smarter App Usage Tracking
There's no change to how your Dashboard looks or works — everything is right where you left it. What has changed is how App Usage is calculated behind the scenes, and it's an upgrade worth knowing about.
Previously, app usage was pulled from your child's device screen time every few minutes. This meant updates could occasionally lag or look inconsistent, and because on-device screen time reflects every app on the phone (including background and system apps), the numbers didn't always line up neatly with what you'd expect to see for the apps that matter most.
Now, App Usage is calculated the moment a monitored session begins — as soon as Instant Replay or Content Moderation starts recording activity for an app, that usage is captured and reflected on your Dashboard right away. This gives you a faster, more focused, and more reliable view of the apps you actually care about monitoring.
A Quick Note on Offline Usage
Aqua One is designed to keep working even when your child's device temporarily loses internet connection. If an app is used while offline, that time is safely stored on the device and automatically added to your App Usage totals as soon as the device reconnects.
Because of this, you may occasionally notice that the total App Usage time is a bit higher than what the number of recorded sessions would suggest. That extra time simply reflects activity that happened offline — nothing is missing, and nothing needs to be fixed.
A Simple Example:
Say your child used an app for four separate 10-second sessions while connected (40 seconds total), but your Dashboard shows 1 minute of usage.
That extra 20 seconds simply reflects time spent in the app while the device was briefly offline — it's added in automatically once the device reconnects. |
Why This Makes App Usage Even More Reliable
Real-time accuracy — usage reflects the moment monitoring starts, not a delayed device check-in
A cleaner picture — focused on the apps being actively monitored, not every background process on the phone
No missed activity — offline time is always captured and added once your child's device is back online
Have Questions?
If you ever notice an App Usage number that looks higher than expected, it's most likely explained by offline activity, just like the example above. If something still doesn't look right, our support team is always happy to take a closer look with you.
