Your Guide to Parent Dashboard Alerts

Parent Dashboard alerts: what they mean and how to manage them

What are push notifications?

The Cyber Dive parent app sends push notifications so you can stay in the loop on your child's device activity as it happens. Notifications show up right on your phone, even if the app isn't open.

What will I be notified about?

There are four types of notifications you can receive:

  • Nudity Alert – a Nudity Prevention alert was triggered on your child's device

  • App Installed – a new app was installed on your child's device

  • App Uninstalled – an app was removed from your child's device

  • Low Storage – your child's device is running low on storage

How do I turn notifications on or off?

Go to Settings, then Push Notifications. You'll find a master toggle that turns all notifications on or off at once, plus individual toggles for each notification type above. Any changes you make are saved automatically, so there's nothing else to do.

How do I allow notifications on my phone?

After this feature rolls out, you'll be prompted to allow or deny push notifications. If you tap “Later,” you'll be prompted again within 7 days. Keep in mind that you'll only receive notifications if you've granted permission, so it's worth saying yes when the prompt appears.

Changed your mind, or want to turn notifications off later? Head to your phone's Settings, then Notifications, then Cyber Dive, and switch notifications off from there.

What happens when I tap a notification?

Tapping a notification opens the app and takes you straight to the relevant screen. For example, tapping a New Alert notification will bring you directly to that alert's details, so you don't have to go looking for it.

I'm not receiving notifications. What should I check?

If notifications aren't coming through, a few things are worth checking:

  1. Make sure the master toggle in your Parent Dashboard Settings is turned on. (This item does not need to be ON for the user to receive notificaions. Maybe we keep it out? )

  2. Check that the specific notification type you're expecting is toggled on.

  3. Confirm notification permission wasn't denied at the phone's system level. This has to be fixed in your phone's system settings, not inside the app itself.

  4. On Android, battery optimization settings can sometimes restrict the app. Turning off battery optimization for the app can help notifications come through reliably.
