Yes — your Parent Dashboard monitoring continues to work fully even if your child installs and uses a VPN app on their Aqua One.
How is that possible?
Aqua One's monitoring is built into the device at the operating system level, not at the network level. A VPN encrypts the internet traffic leaving the device, but it has no effect on what the Aqua One captures directly on the screen and within apps. Every message, every app session, every piece of content viewed — it's all still recorded and sent to your Parent Dashboard regardless of VPN status.
What if my child installs multiple VPN apps?
It doesn't matter how many VPN apps are installed or which one is active — your monitoring stays intact. You'll also be able to see in your App List that a VPN app is installed on the device, so you'll always know if your child has been trying to add one.
Can my child use a VPN for legitimate reasons?
Yes — some children and families use VPNs for legitimate privacy or security reasons, such as using public Wi-Fi safely. If you see a VPN app on your child's device, it's worth having a conversation about why it's there and whether it's being used appropriately.
