What Happens When Aqua One Is Low on Storage?

Learn what the yellow and red storage alerts on your Aqua One Parent Dashboard mean and how to free up space to keep monitoring running without interruption.

If you see a storage alert on your child's profile in the Parent Dashboard, it means their Aqua One device is running low on available space, and depending on how low, monitoring may already be affected.

There are two levels of alert:

Yellow banner - Low storage warning: The device has just over 10GB free. Recording is still running, but you're getting an early heads-up before things are impacted. No action is required right now, but it's worth having your child clear some space soon.

Storage low. Monitoring will soon be paused.

Red banner - Recording paused: Storage has dropped below 10GB. At this point, monitoring and instant replay may no longer be uploading to your dashboard, and some apps will be restricted until enough space is freed up. Your child will also see a prompt on their device to clear storage.

Recording paused. Free up storage to resume Instant Replay.

Will my child know/will my child be able to use apps?

When your child tries to access apps with not enough storage available, a screen will prompt them to delete items (photos, videos, apps, or files) until there is enough for monitoring to begin again.

What apps will my child have access to with low storage?

Below Apps Allowed:

  • Calling

  • Safety

  • Settings

  • Files

  • Contacts

  • Clock

  • Calculator

*When storage is critically low, only essential apps remain accessible. Note that results may vary sometimes if a custom launcher is installed.

What should I do as a parent?

  • Check your Parent Dashboard to see how much storage needs to be cleared if your child's storage has fallen below 10GB

  • Encourage your child to delete unnecessary content

  • Make sure your child's automatic backup is on
